PROJECT SUMMARY

The clients approached us to help re-design the rear garden of their property. The existing decking was rotten, and the narrow pathways and gravel bank were not practical or aesthetically pleasing. Composite decking was a preferred material choice, and the main goal was to gain a number of seating areas to enjoy from the kitchen diner.

KEY POINTS

  • New decking areas were formed to allow for entertaining, and access to the existing summerhouse. Additional paving areas were added for a BBQ and relaxation space.
  • Areas for planting were designed in raised beds to add a sense of separation between the seating areas, and keep maintenance low.
  • Space for a new shed to the side of the garage was created allowing level access to the front garden for the lawn mower.
  • Views out to the countryside were maximised from the garden. Lighting and heating were also incorporated.
  • The bank was re-designed with wildflowers to remove the gravel, and allow for the children to access their play house whilst keeping maintenance low and attract wildlife.

BEFORE

“Amanda, was fantastic at listening to us and turning our thoughts into a high quality garden design. She really cared about making a design that was right for us and had a lot of valuable ideas. Highly recommend.”
