PROJECT SUMMARY
The clients of this contemporary property were looking to add an extension to the rear of the house and a large garden building. Their young children needed space to play, and they were looking for entertaining space with a hot tub. The overall brief was to provide a contemporary, low maintenance concept incorporating all elements and creating a cohesive design.
KEY POINTS
- New summerhouse added in bottom corner of the garden as specified by the clients architect.
- Existing decking utilised as part of the design, based on where the evening sun fell, this was utilised as a dining area.
- Hot tub added to the sunny aspect side of the garden, surrounded by planting to soften the hard landscaping.
- Children’s play area kept near the property for ease of access, kept away from the dining area but within view of the rest of the garden.
- Raised beds continued around the garden to tie the themes together, soften the overall design, and keep maintenance at a minimum.
