PROJECT SUMMARY
As returning clients, a young family of a new-build property wanted to make the most of their blank canvas. The garden had a tapering boundary with a bank at the rear which made it awkward to maintain and less useable. The brief was to maximise the space for play, outdoor dining and leisure, and space to grow plants including some fruit and veg.
KEY POINTS
- New feature wall built to create dedicated planting and leisure spaces and manage the bank.
- Section of raised planting dedicated to growing strawberries and other edibles.
- Stepping stones provide all weather access both between the existing and new patio, and also to the side of the property.
- Gravel planting areas add interest in the shadier sections of the garden and link the different colours and textures.
- Edging divides the different areas and helps with lawn maintenance.
- Drainage has been added along with new topsoil to improve the success of the soft landscaping in years to come.
- A new improved lawn provides space for the children to play, and adds that finishing touch to the garden.
- Finally, paving has been extended to accommodate a small greenhouse and storage unit to screen the bins.
