PROJECT SUMMARY

The client; an award-winning house builder, converted and renovated two properties for the open market. They were looking to transform both the front and back gardens into areas that would both suit the properties and help create the vision for the potential homeowners.

KEY POINTS

  • Sunny aspect planting in the front gardens with a hedge against the boundary wall to create screening from the neighbouring properties. Occasional planting set within slate chippings helps to maintain an open feel to the gardens overall whilst softening the hard landscaping and keeping maintenance at a minimum.
  • Shaded planting schemes for the raised beds in the rear gardens to include feature Box balls, perennials and climbers against the wall. These areas needed to provide a little wow factor to the courtyards style gardens without dominating the space. Slate was used to help reduce weed growth and tie in with the front garden design. We also suggested finishing the courtyard gardens with astro turf to add colour and soften the overall scheme without the requirement for a lawnmower.
